What is USERS?

USERS is the Universal Sustainability Education and Reward System — one mutual, holistic IT platform to reach, inform, motivate and empower everyone to act more sustainably, built through the radical collaboration of international stakeholders.

The situation

We have only a few years left to change course before tipping points push the planet towards a “Hothouse Earth”. Preventing it needs everyone on board — yet many still deny the crisis or can't be reached inside their filter bubbles. Hundreds of tiny apps tackle single aspects with little reach; silo thinking instead of radical collaboration leads nowhere.

The solution

Pool all ideas and collective finance into one irresistible, holistic platform that is a joy to use every day: first-class entertainment and prizes, plus personalized AI sustainability guides that save you money and time — and the planet — for every aspect of life.

Status & collaboration

Five prototypes have been developed with three German universities. The platform should be launched by an independent, multi-stakeholder non-profit alliance, open for everyone to collaborate. This app is the living demonstrator of those ideas — every tile is one building block of the vision.

Challenges and Obstacles

Disinformation

Politically motivated disinformation is blocking the changes we urgently need. Elections are not democratic if we make decisions and vote based on lies.

Lack of awareness

Climate and sustainability is no priority for most people any more. Other topics and crises became more important. Most are living in a social filter bubble.

Lack of information

Many people don't know even basic facts about threats and solutions. It's hard for scientists to reach their minds and hearts.

Lack of collaboration

There are hundreds of apps and solutions but most don't even hear about them or use them. Many are competing and not collaborating.

Using fun and entertainment, prizes, bets and incentives. To reach millions to billions in a short time we need a global online approach with high incentives.

Fake-news-free information, tailored for your situation — using videos, games, simulation blockbusters, music or arts, for pupils, teachers, adults, politicians, CEOs or scientists.

Collaboration

The threats and obstacles are huge, so the project is also huge. It needs a strong, broad, multi-stakeholder international alliance with scientists, NGOs, companies, philanthropists and more. We need YOU!

Tools will help everyone, in many situations, to reduce their footprint and increase their handprint: buildings, food, energy, consumption, elections, and more.
